Invalid Origin. Register your new client (xxxx.ngrok-free.dev) as a new Web

• I have installed appwrite in docker locally, not on any server. Been using for a month.
• I installed ngrok, to let functions access this appwrite instance.
• I can see console login screen, but getting following error Invalid Origin. Register your new client (xxxx.ngrok-free.dev) as a new Web
• I tried adding the hostnamexxxx.ngrok-free.dev in the platforms, by accessing the console with localhost domain. But still getting that error.

oh didn't saw, but you can see the real login page ? or is it trying to access the login page that you get the invalid origin ?

could you also share your docker compose (if you don't want to share all, share the traefik, appwrite and console services) ? as well as _APP_CONSOLE_DOMAIN and _APP_CONSOLE_HOSTNAMES env values (you can put xxxx or others letters for the subdomains, just keep xxxx for the same ngrok you tried above so we don't mix up thoses)

i think the issue if you didn't change the compose, is that _APP_CONSOLE_DOMAIN might be localhost and so traefik don't route your domain to the console, but in the API instead (the API also handles the display of appwrite Sites and Functions, that's why it says the domain is not a deployment/client)

I can access appwrite through the http://localhost/console/ all fine.

And _APP_CONSOLE_DOMAIN doesn't exist, and _APP_CONSOLE_HOSTNAMES is empty

which version are you on ? /console is for 1.x, the new console is on / for 2.0 (but it should redirect if you hit the console)

also if your on 2.0.0, the console is not appwrite/console anymore, i would recommend checking the github repo for the changes if you installed it manually

Pretty sure it's 1.x. I had installed before the 2.0 was launched I think

I meant the UI itself just tells, it's 1.x

at the bottom ? ye that's what the API returns so if it says 1.x then your still on /console

but ye i would really recommend you putting :

in your envs to see if it's not blocked by thoses envs

also if _APP_CONSOLE_DOMAIN don't exists, which exact version are you on ? because that seems old if it's not there

ah maybe 1.7.x or before, it was _APP_CONSOLE_HOSTNAMES only, then it became _APP_CONSOLE_DOMAIN in 1.8 and both in 1.9 and +

ok so next thing, where is ngrok wired to, the host machine port 80 ? or directly to a container and which one if it's the case ?

ok so that mean ngrok should point to traefik, which is good, do you think you can check the logs, to see if there is some 404 errors in the appwrite service ?

Where do I see that logs?

run docker ps | grep appwrite, then find a container named appwrite-appwrite, copy the full name and run docker logs <container_name_or_id>

if your on windows iirc, instead of grep it's Find-Str in powershell, idk the cmd alternative tho

ummm can you tell me the exact version your on again ? thoses logs are 1.9.x

also maybe a real test to see if it hit the API, can you try to do http://xxxx.ngrok-free.dev/v1/health/version, as it's the endpoint for the version

oh it's on the POST that it crash, so you do see the login page with the xxxx.ngrok-free.dev ?

but you can't login right ?

if yes then it's the _APP_DOMAIN that should also hold the ngrok domain
